Barbara Bush: Remembering the Conscience of America

Like with so many other celebrity passings, there were reports that ‘jumped the gun’ (see page 307, Most Comprehensive Origins of Cliches, Proverbs and Figurative Expressions) and announced this story before it actually happened. However, last evening we heard the true crushing report that Barbara Bush had passed from this life to the other side.

She was an anomaly in a world of hate and confusion. She showed love and concern when many ignored it. She worked to raise over $100,000,000 for charities to improve the lives of others. She was unique in many ways. Who didn’t love and / or at least respect Barbara Bush; both liberals and conservatives and those in between? Even when she disagreed with her husband, she spoke her mind.

Yet her most beloved roles were those of wife (73 years in that capacity when most fail to succeed in marriage), mother and grandmother. She was also only the second woman in history to be the wife of one president and the mother of another.

So, regardless to which side of the political scramble you subscribe, please join me in remembering this family in your positive thought and or prayers. We have lost a truly great lady.
