Author Day Library Book Signing a success for authors in spite of weather

Several authors chose not to brave the elements on Saturday for the big Author Day at Magness Library in McMinnville, Tennessee. I’m a little “ahead of the curve” because they haven’t posted the pics yet, but at least 15 authors came out, and the clouds parted mid day, bringing a number of folks by.

I even met a neighbor whose husband I know, who had heard about my cliche origin books not even realizing  by whom they were written. She came to purchase them as a surprise for her husband for his upcoming birthday! I promised not to tell. All authors to whom I spoke sold books, and certainly both who had published with St. Clair Publications. I sold quite a few.

In the meantime head on over to and get your copies of Most Comprehensive Origins of Cliches, Proverbs and Figurative Expressions, original volume and the new Volume II.

Well, it happened again! Thank you!

It was great to see that in addition to 5 other copies of my popular book, Most Comprehensive Origins of Cliches, Proverbs and Figurative Expressions which sold yesterday on Amazon, one individual ordered 17 copies! That happened about a year or so ago when someone ordered 19 copies at the same time. It may be the same person…but I would expect it is a teacher, professor or school ordering them for a class, since I know it has been used as a text book to help teach English as a second language.  I am very grateful for this, and feel honored! But only one copy of the second volume sold yesterday. Of course all purchases are appreciated, but I can’t help but think about all those people who have, and use, my original volume who are missing out on the 1000 + additional entries in the second one which were researched just as meticulously as the others and would improve their library of phrase origins and meanings!

So… If you have the first one, whether you bought it yourself, or received it as a gift, I know you would love Volume II! get your copy today on Amazon or the St. Clair Publications website!

St Clair Publications proudly presents…

Since our opening in 2008 to publications by other authors, both previously published and new ones entering the public arena, my associates spiritual writer and editor Michele Doucette and graphic designer, webmaster and author, Kent Hesselbein, and I  have worked to provide an array of genres in printed and digital formats. We are part of a community of personalities known for researching historical subjects, then exploding myths about misconceptions.

It is now my pleasure to introduce a groundbreaking new work by Australian theologian and researcher, Barry Page, entitled The Historical Moses Found. The title itself is intriguing. If you like exploring alternative history, purchase a copy today on Amazon in the U.S, U.K.. or Continental Europe. It is also available in Kindle format. It will soon also be available at the St. Clair Publications website.

Happy Thanksgiving

Today is a special day in America for giving thanks for our many blessings, both as individuals and families, and for our great heritage as a nation. I encourage everyone to take the day to reflect on the positive in their lives and count their blessings not their sorrows. Happy Thanksgiving, America! And may the future bring many more blessings to each of our St. Clair Publications friends and family!.

Diversity of Authors and Subjects at St. Clair Publications

Since opening up for other authors around the world to publish at little to no cost with St. Clair Publications in 2009, we have attracted a great diversity of writers. Because of the guidelines and restrictions on profane, pornagraphic and negative, cutting publications, we have the right to refuse any author applying, but conversely, since this has always been made clear, we have had very little need to reject books. We have become more selective because we are honest and only want to publish authors with a clear understanding of marketing, promotions and chances.

We have been successful in getting a number of excellent authors. I will list a few who have been successful and the nature of their work:

Michele Doucette:Canadian Educator; Numerous internationally great-selling titles, primarily mind, body and spirit, self evaluation and improvement. She has two excellent new books out titled Muggle Born, Becoming Master Magician of Your Life, Volumes 1 and Two.  (These are separate books) She has been featured in magazines. Her books are also featured in Universities and Libraries

Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games Success

I have just returned from the Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games at Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee, where I hosted a tent for Clan Sinclair, my Scottish family Clan. My ancestor, Alexander Sinkler (St. Clair) of Glasgow, arrived in Virginia in 1698.

For the past 13 years I have been a Commissioner, and at one time, the Eastern Vice President, of Clan Sinclair, USA. My travels and duties as an author and publisher since my retirement from the insurance business have taken so much time that I have now turned over this post in Tennessee to Keith and Susan Sinclair of Knoxville.

At these Games I was privileged to be assisted by several other Clan members, and met the current Eastern Vice President of our Clan, Ralph Comp, who is also the President of Clan Skene, the honored Clan at this event. The entire experience was good, and I sold a number of books, particularly the full-color Prince Henry St. Clair children’s book by noted British-Scottish artist/author, Hazel Brown, and a booklet of Sinclair Barons and Earls as well as several of my own. We also handed out numerous brochures and applications for Clan Membership.

In the meantime, I am busy getting several new books released. Just go to for all those as they are available, and they may also be obtained in paperback or Kindle at, with the paperbacks being available at many other online booksellers.
